MORRIS PLAINS, N.J. – The Weichert Family of Companies successfully completed its 28th Annual Toy Drive, collecting more than 37,500 new toys for disadvantaged children this past holiday season.
The toys collected were donated to numerous charities including the Make a Wish Foundation, Cerebral Palsy Association, Salvation Army, United Way, National Center for Children and Family, Head Start, Marine Toys for Tots, Visiting Nurse Associations, Patrolmen’s Benevolent Associations, as well as numerous local shelters and soup kitchens. The charities then distributed the toys to needy children.
“Once again, we were overwhelmed by the tremendous outpouring of support and generosity from our sales associates and employees, as well as the residents of the communities we serve,” said James M. Weichert, president and founder of Weichert, Realtors. “The Weichert Family of Companies remains committed to helping better the lives of those in need within our community.”
The new, unwrapped toys were collected by Weichert, Realtors sales offices, corporate staff members and franchise affiliates. This year’s total marked a 12 percent increase over the toys collected during the previous drive. In addition to the toys collected, Weichert also collected clothes, food and financial contributions, which were passed along to various charities.
